1. Change is hard. Yep, that's basically all I have to say right now. Change is hard. It is hard to watch, and it is hard to accept. I don't like it. I don't want to accept it. I want everything to stay the same forever, but I know that is impossible.
2. Work support. I have 3 different bosses for my four different jobs I do at the pool. My bosses are all awesome! Lately, one of my bosses has become more of a friend to me, as I've been talking to her about some things I'm experiencing in this stage of life. She is someone who always listens, always gives me advice, and always makes me laugh way hard! The point I'm trying to make here, is that lately I have realized why it is so important to find social support during stressful times. Managing stress is one of the most important things I have learned in my health promotion classes at the U. I just never thought work would be the place that I would find that kind of support, but I'm very thankful for it. :)
3. Saying No. A couple people have pointed out to me that I need to learn how to say no! I never tell people no. I am too much of a people pleaser, and that causes me to over-book myself. I like to be busy, but not so busy that I have no time to sleep. Anyone have any advice on how to make saying no to people not make me feel so guilty???

Remember Septerber 11th, 2001
Just a note, if you want to view these video clips, go to the bottom of my blog page and pause my music so that you can hear the songs in the clips I have posted. They are really great, and I recommend watching them.
I've been thinking alot about 9/11 2001 today. It has now been seven years since the tragic day. I was only in eigth grade. I remember just after 9/11 someone said, "you will never forget what you were doing when you found out America was attacked." Well, to support that, I never have forgotten what I was doing the moment I found out. I was eating breakfast, which happend to be a poptart that day. I was watching the news, and I even remember what chair I was sitting at at the table.
My strongets feeling about 9/11 this day is that we, as Americans, should try our best to never forget 9/11/01. There are so many people who will not watch any news coverage of the day, or who will not even talk about what happened seven years ago. I feel it is so important we never forget the horrific events our country experienced, or the people who died that day, or the poeple who continue to die for our country to make sure nothing like September 11th ever happens to us again. One important reason we remember is to show respect, but also to attempt to sympathize with those who were greatly effected by the tragedies of that day.
Just some random thoughts:
Last night at work, I was talking to 2 of my bosses about 9/11, one of whom has a husband in the military. We discussed how right after 9/11, America was more patriotic than ever before. It makes me sad to see how over these past few years, that patriotism has dwindled. People are forgetting.
We also talked about news coverage of the event. Lots of parents and schools would not let students or children view the attacks in New York and the plane crashes in PA, and DC. One of my bosses then mentioned that she had her TV on constantly for weeks after the event. She said that when something like this happens, you just have to see it to be able to try to sympathize, or to be able to feel patriotic. Personally, I feel the news coverage of September 11th, 2001 should be replayed many, many times a year. My other boss, actually kept news articles and clips from the event. She said she even has the news paper from that horendous day.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that September 11th, 2001 never should be forgotten. People of all ages should be exposed to everything that happened. I also want to show my deep grattitude for the men and women, and their families, who are out right now fighting for our country. I know we would not be where we are today without them.

Tuition Day = DOOM!!!!
I just finished up a wonderful Friday night of paying tuition. I hate tuition day. After I pay, I feel like I've just had a major blow to the head! I feel like a cartoon character who just got pounded in the head, and I can now see the little stars circling my head. I absolutely love college, but I hate tuition. It seems like tuition prices go up every semester at the U. Sometimes I wonder if my future kids will even be able to afford college with how expensive it is getting. That really scares me. Anyways, I've decided the best time of day to pay tuition is at the end of the day, so that you can go to bed and just sleep of the trauma of the experience. That pretty much sums it up, so goodnight!

I'm Back!!!!
Hey everybody! I'm sorry I did not blog all summer. I was way busy working overtime to get ready for school. I also got to do tons of fun stuff. Now that school has started, I'm going to blog again. Hope ya'll had a great summer. Here is a list of things to catch you up on my crazy life:
*This summer alone, I rescued 8 kids at the pool who could not swim. I treated a million bloody noses. I treated to deep cuts which required further care from a doctor. I fixed a couple minor scrapes. I binded and slung 1 arm. I wrapped one sprained ankle. I splinted one toenail that was falling off a girl. I treated one heart attack until paramedics came and took over. I treated one dislocated toe which was turned over to doctors.
*I went to Yellowstone and to a rodeo in Sheridan Wyoming with my friends.
*Jeff comes home in 5 more months.
*I got 2 more jobs at the pool this summer. I am now a head guard and an Operations Supervisor.
*I got to be interviewed on the radio for American Red Cross Lifeguarding.
*I competed in lifeguard games.
*I got 5 different tan lines this summer.
*I had alot fun this summer!
I had a way fun summer. But I am glad to be back in school. Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy 20th Birthday To Me!
Today is my birthday! I was thinking about something some of my extended family members do on their blogs for birthdays. Usually they do some sort of "tribute" to whoever is having a birthday. In conclusion, I have decided to do a "tribute" about myself for my birthday. I know, that must sound extrememly cocky, and well, it is. Just deal with it. Plus, I have alot of cool pictures I needed to display somewhere and what better place to do that than on my fantastic blog? Here are some of the activities this little birthday rat has been up to lately:

Graduation, Moving, Polo!
We had quite the eventful day yesterday. It started out nice an early. We went up to Logan for Maddie's graduation from Utah State. For those of you who do not know, she graduated with a BA in Journalism and a minor in human development and family studies. It was alot of fun. After that we had to help Maddie and Ben move down to Salt Lake, which was not very fun. They are living down here for the summer, because Maddie has an internship with the Deseret News. She will be writing for the Mormon Times section on Thursdays, so make sure to start looking for her articles. After the move, we went up to Park City to see Emily play in the JV water polo state game. Kearns JV girls beat out Skyline for the championship title. It was awesome. Varsity state is in 2 weeks, so look for a blog on how our varsity girls do. Natalie will be playing in that. Here are some photos to show our activities from yesterday.

Ever wonder what happens when Hallmark writers are having a bad day?
My tire was thumping,
I thought it was flat,
When I looked at the tire,
I noticed your cat.
Heard your wife lert you,
How upset you must be.
But dont fret about it,
She moved in with me.
Looking back over the years,
That we've been together,
I can't help but wonder...
What the heck I was thinking.
Congratulations on your wedding day!
Too bad no one likes your husband.
How could two people as beautiful as you,
Have such and ungly baby?
I've always wanted to have
Someone to hold,
Someone to love.
After having met you,
I've changed my mind.
I must admit, you brought Religion into my life.
I never believed in Hell until I met you.
As the days go by,I think of how lucky I am.
That you're not here to ruin it for me.
Congratulations on your promotion.
Before you go...
Would you like to take this knife out of my back?
You'll probably need it again.
Happy Birthday! You look great for your age.
Almost lifelike.
When we were together,
You always said you'd die for me.
Now that we've broken up,
I think it's time you kept your promise.
We have been friends for a very long time.
Let's say we stop?
Your friends and I wanted to do something special for your birthday.
So we're having you put to sleep.

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Watch this video clip and look how sad. I liked her and I'm sad she got voted off American Idol last Wednesday.

Sleepy Students
I am tired, just like every other student on campus. I am ready for this semester to be over. (We only have 2 and a half weeks until finals - YIKES!) This week, I have found that I really look forward to my stress management class. We are learning about autogenic relaxation techniques, imagery techniques, breating exercises, and other hypnotic techniques that help reduce or manage stress. We practice these in class. This is the best part, because it involves my teacher turning out the lights in a windowless classroom at 10:00 in the morning, as we listen to a CD instruct us on relaxing our bodies and focusing on our breating. On Wednesday, we did this, only for about 5 minutes, and focused only on breathing. Today, we did an imagery relaxation tachnique that lasted for about 15 minutes. I only remember being able to listen to the first 5 minutes or so of the instructional CD. After that, everything was a blur. I was either extremely relaxed, or asleep, which would be a reasonable answer seeing that I went to be at 2:00 in the morning 2 nights in a row and then having to wake up early for school. Whatever it was, it felt good. I wish all my classes could involve a stress management section for about 10 minutes. That would be so nice. This brings me to another point I just have to make about being a health major. I spend all day with other health nerds just like me. All my professors have the MPH, or Phd in public health. Unlike other subjects, health teachers are always concerned about the well-being of us students. In math classes that I have taken, the professor walks in and immediately starts lecturing and writing insane equations and numbers all over the board. In the health department, my professors causually walk in and slowly hook up their laptops for our powerpoint lecturs. But as the do this, they always ask how we are doing, if we all are ok because we sure do look sleep deprived, and then they usually comment on the weather. They complain about the dang snow storms that keep students home from school. But they praise the nice weather and opportunity if offers us to get outside and engage in some physical activity. Then they finally start the lecture. Sometimes during the lecture, professors will ask if we are all still doing ok. Once, one of my professors look at us and said, "you all look just burnt out right now. I should just stop the lecture." It's great, I love my major.

Spring Break: Day 1
Today was my first day of spring break. I took some hilarious videos of some events this evening, but I can't get them to upload! If you really want to see them, you'll just have to hang out with me on my spring break!
What I did today:
1.) woke up
2.) ate breakfast
3.) drove my mom to the places she needed to go (her doctor's appt, gas, sonic drinks.)
4.) lounged and watched episodes of Gilmore Girls
5.) went to work for 3 hours
6.) worked out after my shift
7.) came home, ate dinner, watched Emily imitate the Aristocats
Not that I'm not enjoying spring break how it is, but let me just leave you with some pictures of where I WISH I was for spring break:
Hawaii! It must be so warm there.
Route 66! I think it sounds fun!
Kayaking!
Mountain biking!

Are You Sure It is Not Final's Week?
School is killing me! Studying is exhausting me! I'm not getting enough sleep. I can't relax. My back muscles are so tense! I want to go to bed now, but I can't. Are you sure this week, and last week, have not been final's week? Thank goodness for spring break. I get all next week off from school. It's about time. I need sleep.

Premonition
I have been having weird premonitions all day. Now, my premonition is not about anything really exciting. My premonition is about having a broken foot. It all started last night, while I was sleeping. I had a weird dream. I dreamt that I had some sort of foot surgery or problem and had to have my foot all casted up. I chose a pink cast, which is totally not me. The doctor who put my cast on was one of our old lifeguard shift supervisors from a few years ago, named Jaylene. She didn't put the cast on tight enough in my dream. The cast started to fall off, so me and someone else went to look for some first aid tape to tie the cast on tight. But all we could find was some sort of whip cream substance. Then I woke up. So I get ready for school, and commute up to the U, and my day is going pretty normal, so far. Then, one of my professors suddenly tells us about the time she broke her foot. This immediately reminded me of my dream. But I really got weirded out when I was waiting for TRAX to go home. A student walked right past me and he was limping! He must have had a hurt foot! All I can say now is that I better be carefull what I do with my feet. Next thing I know, an aligator might come out of the ground and eat my foot off my body!
