3 Months Encounting...

Elder Jiffy Butter Muffin

This amazing picture is of the city in California known as San Diego. This is where one of my best friends (in the above picture) will be spending the next 2 years, serving an LDS mission. He got his call last week. Not only does he serve his mission in San Diego, but his mission is also a Spanish speaking mission. How exciting this is! He leaves January 31st, 2007, which is exactly three months from today. I will miss him, but it will be a good miss. He will be a way awesome missionary!

Airports

I have been to the airport so many times in my life, but I have never actually flown on an airplane. I have gone to the airport to drop a family member off as they fly away, and I have been to the airport to pick up a family member when they have returned from a flight. The airport is an amazing place. All you have to do is find a good seat and you will be entertained for hours! So many people walk in and out of the airport. People watching is awesome. It is fun to see people walk in with their surf boards, or with their Eskimo coats, depending on where they are returning from. It is also fun to watch people be greeted by friends and family as they come in from a flight. I wonder what it is like to be greeted after coming in from a flight?

Date idea: Take a date to the airport and people watch. This includes gossip about where people have been and staring at some of the other weird people that are there to people watch.

A+B+C=Stress, stress, and more stress!

What are the variables A, B, and C? Well, A=homework, B=School itself, and C=tests. Together, these add up to stress. I am overwhelmed with stress right now, and I hate it. I am one who just wants to have fun. But school is killing me! College is so much different than high school. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I am especially struggling in my math class and my African American studies class. I really like my math professor, but I am having a hard time with understanding some of my math. My cousin, Haley, is a high school math teacher, and she has been giving me a TON of help. But I always feel bad asking for help. I don't want to be an annoying student who can't figure anything out on their own. But I am so thankful to have family members and extended family members who are willing to share their talents with me. I hope I can some day be able to share my talents in the same way. As for the African American class, I am not sure what to do. I absolutely love the subject. It has been an awesome subject to learn about, but I don't like my professor. She is really unorganized, and whenever she makes mistakes, she blames it on us, if you know what I mean.

I am so nervous about grades right now. I am so scared that my grades are not going to be good enough for what I want to do. I hope everything will be okay. I just need to stop being a baby I guess. Speaking of babies, one of my old young women leaders just had her baby today! She had a little boy, and he weighs 9 pounds. Congratulations Kristen and Shayne! And thanks Shelby for keeping me informed!

How am I right now?

Right now, I really want summer. I absolutely love all 4 seasons, and I am way excited to watch snowstorms this winter, but I am really craving summer. I miss all the fun things I got to do in the summer, my favorites of which are hiking and camping. I would give anything to be in the Uintah Mountains right now! This picture takes place at Wall Lake, in the Uintahs. This lake is on the trail up to Notch Mountain, which is the mountain to the right of my head. My dad, Emily, and I hiked this just this past summer. Hiking is the best feeling. After breathing hard, and sweating and thisting, it is most enjoyable to finally reach the top of the mountain you are climbing, and look down on the forest below you. Hiking has really become one of my passinons. My dad is now in the young men's presidency in our ward, so he will be doing a lot of backpacking next summer. He told me that this spring we will get to do a lot of small day hikes to get him ready for his trips next summer. I can't wait!

Are you serious?

Yes I am! I am following a trend. I know, weird. Since when do I follow trends? Well, since some of my cousins and friends do these blog things, I decided to give it a shot. Not literally! After all, I'm not professionally traind to administer shots. I'm just a student trying to be cool. Anyways, I don't know much about blogs, so if anyone has some advice on how to do this, that would be totally sweet!
